Fab time at the crop!

I had a fabulous time on Saturday at our crop - the main hall was buzzing with activity all day and we had a blast in the classroom! I have to say that this is down to the great team we have working behind the scenes to bring everything together. Mum and Dad were quite literally sweating buckets getting the tables and chairs set out at the beginning of the day and the same again at the end. Dave and Jack flexed their muscles loading and unloading the van and the amazing Pauline kept everything together in the shop. I couldn't have done it without you all, so thank you very much (love you all!!!!).

We have opened booking for our next crop in June and have almost sold out once again! There are a few places left so you might want to think about booking yourself a place quite quickly before they all go. Classes will start to go on sale over the next few weeks and I'll give the usual 2-3 days notice so you can arrange to be near a computer.

So why the breast cnacer ribbon on this post? Well, one of the classes at the crop used the Melissa Frances 'Thankful' line, sales of which will raise money for breast cancer charities. We announced in the class that we would be donating all the profit from this class to raise money for breast cancer charities and the group in class thought it would be a good idea to make a small donation in class to boost our donation. At my club we have had 2 members diagnosed with breast cancer so it is an issue close to our hearts. I don't know if you had a chance to see the Channel 4 programme 'Embarrassing Bodies' but last night it was all about breasts. They have a fab video about breast exam on the Channel 4 website (the site is down at the mo due to weight of traffic!) so please take a few minutes to take a look at it and make yourself aware of your boobs and what is normal for you. Check out www.breastcancercare.org.uk for more info.

Peeks for crop classes this Saturday

Jack was more than happy to accompany me to McDonalds so that we could upload the peeks today - can't think why?!! Anyway, here goes......

As promised, the MME 'Dreamy' class is very girlie with its pink/orange/red colourway. I used a single large landscape photo but you could use two 6"x4" as an alternative. You'll need a pink inkpad and some 3d foam pads plus a small single hole punch and a sewing needle with a large eye (I used my Making Memories one from the deluxe toolkit).

The 'Felicity' class is one of my favourites with its fresh turquoise and white and a shot of orange to heat things up! I used a single landscape photo but again, this will work well with a number of smaller pics. Bring along a creamy brown inkpad and some 3d foam pads if you're signed up for this one.

Grab a single 6"x4" landscape photo with a travel theme for the Grayson Hall class and you're good to go! This page is high impact with its black and cream colours and shots of red and green for a bit of zing. You'll want a black journaling pen as we have plenty of space for you to tell your traveller's tales on this gorgeous page!

I love the Manhattan line from Autumn Leaves, its very sophisticated in tones of turquoise and brown - perfect for almost any type of photo. I used two trimmed 6"x4" portrait photos in the sample but a single larger pic would work equally as well.

This class is another of my favourites, its very soft and elegant in shades of pink, pale green and white. I used a non-standard 10" x 5 1/2" landscape photo on my sample but you could use a number of smaller photos - heritage photos would work beautifully with these gorgeous products. You'll need a pink inkpad (I used pink pastel) and some 3d foam pads.

Grab a stack of snaps for the Chatterbox class because you can get masses of them on this page! I used a load of photos all taken on one day and used that as my theme but this would be a perfect way to showcase any event where you've taken a ton of pics - think birthday, christening, holiday, family barbecue! We all take masses of photos at these sort of events and then may only ever use a few, on this page you can use them all! Smaller photos would work best - don't go larger than 6" x 4" in any case. You'll also need a green inkpad (I used Lime Pastel) and a paper pricker (or strong sharp needle).

I hope this helps you with your preparations for the crop - don't stress out about finding the perfect photos because I'd be surprised if you get everything completed in class in any event. I like to give you plenty to do!!

See you Saturday! K :o)

Kit for club this week

Mum has just come back from Canada and like last year, she had tons of fab-ness for the shop in her suitcases! She went to a warehouse event at one of our suppliers and was able to pick and choose directly from the shelves which was a real luxury. Some of these goodies made it into the kit for this week's club - I couldn't resist them!

We're using lovely muted coloured papers from My Mind's Eye this week, together with new Bazzill paper flowers and a Heidi Swapp acrylic stamp (which is yours to keep!). The theme is 'Fabulous' - so dig out photos of anything or anyone fabulous in your opinion.

You'll need to bring along a Creamy Brown inkpad and some 3d foam pads - plus a lot of patience as there's a lot of fiddly cutting out for this one. Don't say I didn't warn you!!

Once again we are getting tight on kits for club so be sure to reserve yours right away, K :o)

Two more classes up today

The crop classes are now arriving thick and fast so today we have added two to the shop for booking. Both are stuffed full of good stuff - the first uses the 'Grayson Hall' line from Collage Press and the layout is travel themed, so perfect for any pic you may have on the road. We have included a whole pack of the new Bazzill chipboard shapes in this kit together with double sided papers, journaling tape, flowers, brads and more!

Our second class available today uses 'Manhattan' from Autumn Leaves. These colours are cool and chic - think mint, white and bitter chocolate. We have double sided papers, 2 packs of cardstock stickers and an acrylic stamp included in this kit.

Places in the classes are limited and so far we have sold out within an hour of releasing each class - so you'll need to get your skates on to avoid being disappointed!

Project for club this week

After fighting with internet access from home I have decamped to McDonalds in order to upload this week's project. Instructions have already gone out to everyone who has indicated that they are attending but if you haven't received yours yet then please get in touch.

I had fun designing this week, I was inspired by the stickers that come in the kit and found some fun pics of LJ doing what he does best when a comera is pointed his way! This is a great kit for the guys, the colours are perfect and there are plenty of alphabet stickers to make any title that takes your fancy. We had a delivery of the new Bazzill chipboard shapes and because I wanted to play we ended up with some of these in the kit too!! The only things you'll need this week are some 3d foam pads, a little sandpaper and a pale blue inkpad (optional).

See you there, K :o)

New crop class available now!

If you are joining us for our crop at the end of this month then you might want to grab yourself a place in the second of our crop classes to be released. The places are limited and I can see this one being sold out really fast today so be quick!

I've had great fun this afternoon messing around with all the goodies that are in this kit - 8 sheets of double-sided patterned papers, cardstock, brads, chipboard corners, alphabets, numbers, phrases and tags. I've put together an interactive page that creates masses of space for loads of photos. My theme is 'A day in the life' but to be honest you can use the same page for just about any group of photos. I'm still adding pics and faffing with it before I finish it so I'll let you know how many photos I used in the end and the sort of sizes when I'm done.
